Building on your twining skills from the basketry workshops, this session focuses on creating a flat woven wall hanging using twining techniques and beautiful paper string in your choice of colours. Unlike baskets, we will explore decorative patterns and texture to craft a unique, personal mandala-style piece—perfect for adding a handmade touch to your home.
No prior experience with twining wall hangings is necessary, just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!

Cotton Basket Workshop – Sunday 29th March 2026
The first workshop in our Spring Series focuses on soft, sculptural basketry using recycled cotton cord in a colour of your choice. You’ll learn the traditional basketry technique of twining to create a beautiful hand-held key basket — ideal for trinkets, jewellery, or simply as a decorative touch in your home.
Twining is a rhythmic, intuitive process, perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike. You’ll leave with:

Coiled Basketry Workshop – Sunday 12th April
Join me for a series of Spring workshops at the West Cork Collective.
In this session, you'll learn the ancient technique of coiled basketry — a method that dates back thousands of years, possibly as far as the Neolithic period. Traditionally crafted from grasses or heather, coiled baskets are known for their strength and durability.
We’ll be working with a variety of materials; sea grass, linen

At the West Cork Collective in Ballinspittle — a bright, welcoming space shared by a group of local artists and makers.

Each class runs from 10:30am to 1:00pm. That gives us plenty of time to settle in, weave, and chat without rushing.

I tend to man the shop in Ballinpsittle every Wednesday morning, you are welcome to come into the shop for additional support with your weaving practice during this time. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and quiet companionship.
